Hublot Teams Up with British Artist for Their New Limited-Edition Release

After teaming up with the British artist and designer Samuel Ross, Hublot is all set to release their Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A watch for this year that embraces an entirely monochromatic gray tone for the case. Instead of using a single fixed strap, Hublot has opted to offer three distinct colored interchangeable straps.

Design-wise the full case is manufactured from micro-blasted titanium with a diameter of 44mm. The thickness is measured at 13.75mm with 30 meters water resistance capacity. In order to make the watch more lucrative, sapphire crystals are fitted to both sides of the dial as well as on the caseback. This limited-edition watch doesn’t intend to stage the movement.

The Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross is powered by HUB6035 automatic movement that runs at a frequency of 21,600vph (3 Hz). The watch has approximately 72 hours of power reserve capacity. The HUB6035 powered watch has a tourbillon at six o'clock and a micro-rotor that is prominently shown at twelve o'clock on the dial side of the watch.

The Hublot piece comes with three interchangeable rubber straps—white, neon green and black. The brand offers the freedom to users to swap among different colors that can match official or casual attire.

All three straps go with the monochromatic gray full-titanium case seamlessly. The straps are made of high-quality materials with a large, ventilated center section that mirrors the skeletonized honeycomb structure. Users can easily detach straps from the case simply by pressing the two buttons located on top of the lugs—thanks to Hulot’s signature quick-release system.

Hublot confirms that only 50 examples of this new Samuel Ross collaboration piece will be produced. In addition, this magnificent piece will come with a higher price tag due to its titanium case components and three interchangeable multi-colored straps. The official retail price is declared at $127,000. While the price is definitely on the higher side, considering the uniqueness of this Samuel Ross edition it seems worthy enough. Especially when the least expensive Hublot Big Bang Tourbillion models hit the six-figure mark.
