Seiko Releases Two Additions to Heritage Collection

Grand Seiko is admired for its high level of craftsmanship and profound ties to Japanese tradition. This enthusiasm is reflected in the inclusion of two new pieces into the Heritage Collection.

Officially designated SBGW297 and SBGW299, the most recent iterations of these watches feature a streamlined 44GS case, a manual-wind movement, and a dial with a textured blue or white finish, respectively. Both dials feature an enthralling radial sunray pattern that evokes the ancient craftsmanship of fans. Adorning their exterior are applied baton hour indicators with multiple facets and a minute track that is intricately printed around the perimeter. Dial protection is provided by a box-shaped sapphire crystal.

Apart from the color differences on the dial, the Grand Seiko SBGW297 and SBGW299 have the same features. The angular stainless steel casings, which draw inspiration from the 44GS, are delicately refined with Zaratsu and brushed to a mirror-like, distortion-free quality. The case's dimensions measure 36.5 mm in diameter by 11.6 mm in thickness, and it is water-resistant up to 100 meters.

The SBGW297 and SBGW299 from the Grand Seiko Heritage Collection are powered by the same high-quality Calibre 9S64 manual-wind mechanical movement. This mechanism, which runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and has a power reserve of around 72 hours, is subjected to extensive testing in six different positions over the course of seventeen days to ensure it meets Grand Seiko's exacting accuracy criteria of -3/+5 seconds each day.

The Grand Seiko SBGW297 and SBGW299 come with a three-link stainless steel bracelet, which is complemented by a triple-folding clasp featuring a convenient push-button release.
